2008 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition - Critics Gold Award “An expressive Cabernet. It begins with bright fruit but gains complexity through the mid-palate and into the finish, and ends seeming richer and more multi-dimensional. It probably would benefit from decanting.” Paul Lukas, 2008 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition Judge, award-winning author, columnist, wine educator and current wine editor for Saveur magazine (May 2008)
2008 World Wine Championships - Beverage Testing Institute 89 pts - Silver Medal - “Highly Recommended” “Garnet violet color. Aromas of candied cassis, cocoa butter, butter roasted nuts, and peppery spice aromas follow through on a broad, supple entry to a fruity-yet-dry full body with layers of ripe dark berries, cedar and minty earth underneath. Finishes with a long, tangy, almost meaty cocoa-dusted berries, nut and dusty tannin fade. A great choice to pair with grilled lamb.” (tasted on Aug-06-2008) |

Our Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Asbill Vineyard, a small vineyard located West of Highway 29 on Orchard Avenue in the Oak Knoll AVA at the Southern end of Napa. The vineyard is owned by Scott and Pauline Asbill, who meticulously oversee all vineyard operations and allow us the comfort in knowing that the product we pick up from them at harvest puts us half way to making great wine. |
